    1. Day   Beijing  (L, SD)
    Highlights: Great Wall, Ming Tombs and Duck Dinner

    Pick-up Place & Time: International Hotel , 8:40am-9:00am. Our guide will hold a welcome sign with our company’s name China Absolute Tours Int’l Inc. to meet you at the lobby.
    Morning: This morning you will take a half-day guided visit to the awesome Badaling Great Wall of China. It is only 70km (about 43.5 miles) away from downtown Beijing and was completely restored after 1957.Here you can enjoy the stunning views as you stroll along this seemingly endless piece of history, which winds its way into the far distance.
    Afternoon: In the afternoon you will continue to the Ming Tombs located in a gorgeous valley 45km (28 miles) northwest of Beijing. The burial site of 13 Ming dynasty emperors and their consorts was carefully chosen and took over 200 years to complete. Today you will visit Changling where emperor Yongle and his empress was buried and features one of the largest halls in China.
    Evening: Tonight you will enjoy Peking Roast Duck at Quanjude Restaurant for dinner.
     
    2. Day  Beijing (B, L)
    Highlights: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Peking Opera
    Morning: After having breakfast at your hotel, you will take a half-day excursion to explore the world heritage site Forbidden City with its grand palaces and courtyards. Built in 1420, it was here that 24 Ming and Qing dynasty emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years.Besides its massive scale and historical significance, the Forbidden City strikes the imagination by its design. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square - the biggest of its kind in the world. Lunch is served at a local Chinese restaurant.
    Afternoon: Visit Temple of Heaven which is one of Beijing’s most famous landmarks. This was the place where Ming and Qing emperors worshipped God and prayed for harvest. Highlights of the temple are the Hall for the Prayer of Good Harvest, the Circular Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and the Echo Wall.
    Evening: Tonight you will enjoy a fascinating Peking Opera show at Liyuan Theatre.
     
    3. Day  Beijing – Xi’an (B, L)
    Highlights: Summer Palace
    Transportation: overnight train Z19 (depart at 21:36,arrive at 08:26 next morning).

    Morning: Check out after the breakfast and leave your baggage in Concierge of the hotel. Then your tour will start to pay a visit to the beautiful Summer Palace where you can discover gardens, palaces and pavilions with temples and halls in a tranquil, landscaped lakeside setting. In 1886, the Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing dynasty diverted funds earmarked to build a modern Chinese navy and spent the money on endowing the Summer Palace with a marble boat-shaped pavilion and other extravagances throughout the palace. She also gave the palace its current name, Yiheyuan which means the Garden for Cultivating Harmony in Chinese.
    Afternoon: Lunch will be served at  local restaurant in downtown. After that free at leisure.
    Evening: 8:00pm-8:20pm, Picked up at your Hotel and transferred to Beijing West Rail Station, take train Z19 to Xian 
     
    4. Day  Xi’an  (B, L)
    Highlights: History Museum, Great Mosque, Muslim Street
    Morning: Meet your local guide upon arrival and transferred to a local restaurant for a typical Xian breakfast. Begin your tour in Xian with a visit to the Shanxi Provincial Museum of History, one of the best of its kind in China. It displays a great number of ancient pieces of arts and crafts. The bronze pieces, the gold and silverware, the terrocotta pieces and murals from Tang dynasty tombs are of special significance.
    Lunch is served at a local restaurant
    Afternoon: Continue to the Great Mosque which was established in AD 742 in the Tang dynasty for Muslim traders from central Asian who settled in Xian. It is difficult to tell that the buildings are Islamic because it was built according to traditional Chinese architectural forms. Now it is still an active place of worship. After stepping out of the mosque, have a leisurely stroll around Huifang, the area surrounding the mosque with a distinct Muslim atmosphere and small tree lined lanes crowded with restaurants and shops that are alive with activities.
     
    5. Day Xi’an – Shanghai  (B, L)
    Highlights: Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda
    Transportation: overnight train T140 (depart at 19:53,arrive at 11:34 next morning).

    Morning: Check out your hotel and leave your baggage in Concierge. Xian, with over 3000 years of recorded history,has been the capital of 12 dynasties. The Qin emperor Shihuang who lived from 259 to 210 BC left his indelible mark through the famed Terracotta Warriors. This morning you will visit the world wonder where numerous life-sized clay soldiers,horses stand in battle formation guarding the tomb of the first Qin emperor.
    Afternoon: Transferred back to downtown for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The brick Big Wild Goose Pagoda was first built in AD 652 for housing and protecting Buddhist scriptures collected by Tang dynasty monk Xuanzang who spent 17 years traveling to India for the collection. His journey was written in the novel Journey to the West, one of China’s most important literary works. Before dinner going back to your hotel to get back your baggage.
    Evening: After dinner at local restaurant transferred to the rail station for train T140 (leave at 7:53pm, arrive at 11:34am next day) to Shanghai.
     
    6. Day  Shanghai  (D)
    Highlights: Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund, Huangpu River Cruise
    Morning: Today you will have breakfast on the train at your own expenses. There is a dining car on the train (usually in the middle of the train) and simple Chinese breakfast will be served. Or you may prepare some food in Xian the day before. Upon arrival in Shanghai meet your local guide and transferred to your hotel for a short break. Lunch will be at your own choice.
    Afternoon: visit Jade Buddha Temple, a spiritual oasis in the midst of a booming city. It was built with Song dynasty architecture style in 1918 to house two legendary jade Buddhas brought from Myanmar. Next stop is number one tourist site - the Bund. a long strip on west bank of Huangpu River. It’s not only the fantastic view but also the atmosphere of wealth that attracts thousands of people coming to admire. On its west side lines many famous banks, foreign-funded or state-owned, so the Bund is also known as Financial Street and the East Wall Street in China.
    Dinner is served in local restaurant.
    Evening: Enjoy a cruise tour on the Huangpu River. the view of the old masterpieces and the new wonders across the river will be a sore-eye sight for you.
     
    7. Day  Shanghai – Suzhou - Luzhi– Shanghai  (B, L)
    Highlights: Humble Administrator’s Garden, Master of Nets Garden, Grand Canal, Silk factory.
    Transportation: private vehicle
    Morning: Drive one and a half hour to Suzhou for a day excursion. With a history of over 2500 years and its well-preserved traditional gardens and ancient canals, architectures, the charming city Suzhou was designated as UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997.This morning you will visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the largest and most renowned of its kind in China.
    Afternnon: After lunch at local restaurant continue your visit to Master of Nets Garden well-known for its water landscapes and pavilions. After that take a leisurely walk along the ancient Grand Canal, watching the boats on the canal drifting by. Before being transferred back to Shanghai, pay a special visit to a silk Mill where you may learn how silk worms to be woven into silk thread as well as fantastic silk products. On the way back to Shanghai, stop at Luzhi, a small ancient water village, enjoy the unique water landscape and peaceful country life.
     
    8. Day  Shanghai  (B, L)
    Highlights: Shanghai Museum

    Morning: Transfer to the People’s Square, visit Shanghai Museum. It was designed by a Shanghai architect. Its appearance looks like an ancient Chinese bronze vessel” Ding”. Inside the museum there is a spectrum of China’s great display of art and artifacts such as ancient bronze sculptures, ceramics, famous paintings, exotic furniture…etc.
    Afternoon: After lunch free at leisure
     
    9. Day  Depart Shanghai (B)
    Check out after breakfast and farewell to each other.

    The 88-year-old Beijing Dongfang Hotel is formed by structures from three different periods: 1918, 1983, and 1985. The hotel has 288 standard rooms and suites, which are all designed and constructed according to 4-star criteria.
    The hotel restaurant is located on the second floor of the main building. Its 400 square meter area can serve 250 people at one time.
    The Old House 1918 Coffee Shop is located on the first floor of the auxiliary building, which is adjacent to the hotel garden. The elegant and classical design of the 120 square meter space provides a sense of relaxation to its customers.
